Andrea Wenzel is an assistant professor of journalism at Temple University's Klein College of Media and Communication, and a research fellow at Columbia University's Tow Center for Digital Journalism. Her research focuses on initiatives to create more connected and inclusive communities through engaged journalism and solutions journalism. She is the co-founder/researcher coordinator of the community journalism project, the Germantown Info Hub.

 

Prior to completing her PhD at USC Annenberg, Andrea spent 15 years as a public radio producer, editor, and media development consultant. She has managed media projects and trained media-makers in Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Iraq, and India for media development organizations such as BBC Media Action and InternewsShe worked with WAMU, Washington DC's NPR affiliate, to develop the global affairs series, Latitudes, and with WBEZ Chicago Public Media as a producer for Worldview. She reported from Thailand as an International Reporting Project Fellow and her features and documentaries have been broadcast on a number of national and international outlets.
